Epidemiological correlates of depression in females at an infertility clinic of government medical hospital- a cross sectional study

Background: Infertility affects lives of millions people worldwide which includes the couples themselves as well extends further to their families, wider communities also. Moreover, in contrast usual belief, problem is faced by men and women both. Infertility-related stress adversely all dimensions health, quality life relationship with family. Methods: This cross sectional study was carried out outpatient department (OPD) obstetrics gynecology during a period two months (August September 2022). The subjects comprised age group 18-45 years. Data collected using interview techniques pre designed questionnaire. Statistical analysis nu epi info software. Results: A total sample 113 covered present study. mean 28.38 years, range being 21 37 year. Depression varying levels detected 76 (67.25%) participants. However, 32 (32.75%) females were normal without any detection depression. Mild depression observed 15 (13.27%), moderate 62 (49.56%) remaining 5 (4.42%) had severe Conclusions: level severity common occurrence attending infertility clinic. Though role socio demographic factors not statistically proven relation study, cannot be denied.
